Why is it called Python?

Guido van Rossum were inspired with BBC comedy series “Monty Python’s Flying Circus”. So he decided to  implementing a new programming language called Python.

The Python Software Foundation is an American non-profit organization launched on March 6, 2001 that holds the copyright on Python versions 2.1 and newer.
